My space tool has many applications aboard the ISS. Its first application is in an astronaut’s personal hygiene kit to get every last drop out of a tube of toothpaste or AstroEdge, which is important considering the huge energy costs needed to lift every kilogram into space. My tool can also be used to push food out of a corner of a thermostabalized food packet before it is cut open, keeping scissors clean. After cutting open the packet, my tool can be used to get as much food as possible out of the other corners, minimizing waste. The clip is also designed with a spot for a dot of Velcro, thus eliminating the need for it on every packet of food. Lastly, the clip can be used on a fluid bag as a handle, helping prevent spillage of liquids.
