For my mars medical device I created a suture kit for any wounds that may occur in space. It is a 5.5 by 5.5 box made of cobalt (a magnetic material). The box has a lid that will magnetically connect to the box. In the box there are three sections. One is for small forceps, scissors, tweezers etc. These will be brought up with the astronauts. The second is for cleansing towelettes and gauze that will also be brought on the mission. The last box has a cylinder which is where the suture thread will go. This thread will be able to be 3D printed so that they have a large supply without bringing to much up. The thread will be made of silk. This will be essential if an astronaut were to get hurt during the mission and with unlimited thread they will be able to heal numerous wounds that occur on the mission.
