Medical tools, such as tweezers, are important to the medical field. When debris is left in or under the skin, tweezers can be used to remove those harmful things from the body. On the trip to Mars, printing this medical tool would keep the unexpected puncture to the skin from turning into something much worse. Using the design guidelines, I created a pair of tweezers that print fully assembled. The design is an over-under slip fit pivot that makes the tweezers work in the center. There are two parts that are connected together by the pivot. The pincers at the end are used to remove or move things such as dirt, splinters, and electrical parts. During exploration and building, medical crews would have the equipment to extract foreign items from the skin. This three-dimensional design might save lives on our mission to Mars.
